Instructions for Motorola
Settings for Motorola devices with Android 9
- Go to Phone settings > Apps and notifications > Special app access > Battery optimization > select from the dropdown ‘All apps‘ > select our app > select tickbox for “Don’t optimize”.
- Also repeat step 1 for ‘Google Play services’, if it is also in the list.
- Go to Phone settings > Apps and notifications > select our app > Advanced > Battery > Background restriction > set to “no restrictions“.
- Go to Phone settings > Apps and notifications > select our app > Advanced > Battery > Battery optimization> set to “no optimization”.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 also for ‘Google Play services’, if it is also in the list.
- Go to Phone settings > Security & Location > (under ‘Privacy’) select Location > (under ‘App-level permissions’) select Advanced > (under (again) ‘App-level permissions’) select Scanning > two options here Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning, turn both OFF. Now go back one screen and select (under ‘Location services’) Google Location Accuracy > make sure that Improve Location Accuracy is switched ON.
- Restart the phone.
Settings for Motorola (Motorala Moto G7 Power) devices with Android 10
- Go to Phone settings > General > Location > Mode > set “High accuracy”.
- Go to Phone settings > Battery > turn Battery Saver Mode OFF.
- Go to Phone settings > Battery > turn Ultra battery saver mode OFF.
- Go to Phone settings > Battery > USER DETAILS > select our app > Manage battery usage > set not to reduce power consumption.
- Go to Phone settings > Battery > Adaptive Battery > turn Adaptive Battery OFF.
- Go to Phone settings > Apps & notifications > Advanced > Special app access > Battery optimization > select our app > turn Optimize OFF.
- Open quick settings (swipe down once from the top of the screen, then swipe down again to see all quick settings) and touch and hold the ‘Save energy‘ icon to adjust corresponding settings. Click on Save energy > turn option Auto Power On OFF.
- Go to Phone settings > Security & location > Location > Advanced > Scan > turn WiFi scanning ON.
- Go to Phone settings > Network and Internet > Data usage > Data saver > turn Use data saver OFF.
And /or: Go to Unlimited data and allow our app to use background data (turn ON switch next to app name). - Go to Phone settings > Network & Internet > Data usage > App data usage > select our app > turn Background data ON.
Settings for Motorola (Motorola Moto G8 Power) devices with Android 10
- Go to Settings > Battery > turn OFF:
– Battery Saver
– Adaptive Battery. - Go to Settings > Apps & notification > Advanced > Special app access > Battery optimization > choose “All apps” > find our app and set “Not optimized”.
- Go to Settings > Location > Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning > turn both “Wi-Fi scanning” AND “Bluetooth scanning” ON.
- Go to Settings > Location > Advanced > Google Location Accuracy > turn “Improve location accuracy” ON.
- Go to Settings > Network & internet > Mobile network > App data usage > find our app and turn “Background data” ON.
- Go to Quick settings > next to the connected network, click the Settings button (wheel) > Advanced > Network usage > set NOT to restrict.
- If applicable: Go to Settings > Performance optimization > enable our app to run in the background.
- Restart the mobile.
Settings for Motorola devices with Android 11
- Go to Settings > Battery > menu in the top right corner > Battery optimization > tap “Not optimized” > tap “All Apps” > find our app on this list > tap on “Don’t Optimize”.
- Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization > tap the three dots menu > tap Advanced optimization > turn Deep optimization (or Adaptive Battery) AND Sleep standby optimization both OFF.
- Go to Settings > Battery >turn Battery Saver AND Adaptive Battery both OFF.
- Go to Settings > Location > enable Use location > turn Wi‑Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning ON.
- Go to Settings > Location > Advanced > Google Location Accuracy >turn Improves location accuracy ON.
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > turn Data Saver OFF.
- Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > See all XX apps > App info > Internet Service > Mobile data & Wi-Fi > turn Background data & Unrestricted data usage ON.
- Go to Settings > Network & internet > Mobile network > App data usage > touch our app > turn Background data ON.
Settings for Motorola devices with Android 12
- Turn OFF the battery optimization for our app:
Go to Settings” > Apps & notifications > Advanced > Special app access > Battery optimization > choose our app > choose “Not optimized”.
or:
Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > choose our app > Battery > choose “Don’t optimize”. - Go to Settings > Battery > turn Battery Saver AND Adaptive Battery both OFF.
- Go to Settings > Location > turn Use location ON.
- Go to Settings > Location > App location permissions > set our app to “Allowed all the time” AND turn Use precise location ON.
- Go to Settings >Location > Location services > turn Wi-Fi scanning AND Bluetooth scanning both ON.
- Go to Settings > Location > Location services > Google Location Accuracy > turn ON Improve location accuracy.
- If applicable:
Motorola also has a built-in app to make managing the apps easier: Open the “Device Shield app”, go to Background running, select our app and tap Allow running in the background. Go to the main page from the app to Apps auto-start and make sure our app is activated. - Turn data saving OFF:
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > turn OFF Data Saver.
or:
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Data Saver > turn OFF Use Data Saver > go to Unlimited Data > allow our app to use background data. - Turn ON background data use:
Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > See all XX apps > App info > Internet Service > Mobile data & Wi-Fi > turn ON Turn Background data & Unrestricted data usage.
or:
Go to Settings > Network & internet > Mobile network > App data usage > click on our app > turn Background data ON. - Turn unlimited data ON:
Go to Settings > Network & internet > Mobile network > Data warning/limit > switch OFF Set data limit.
or:
Go to Settings > Apps > Special app access > Unlimited data > Allow our app to use background data even when Data Saver is enabled. - Go to Settings > Apps > choose our app> Permissions > turn OFF Pause app activitiy if unused.
- Go to Settings > Apps > choose our app > turn OFF Remove permissions if app is unused.
- Go to Settings > Apps > choose our app > Battery > choose ‘Unrestricted’.
- Open Recent Apps > tap the icon of our app > choose ‘Lock this app‘. A lock will now appear at the bottom of the app. The app is now locked.
- Restart the phone.
