Instructions for OnePlus

At first, make sure that GPS, WiFi and mobile data are turned on as much as possible. If there are problems that measurements are not (correctly) taken, check the following settings:

  1. Go to your Phone Settings > choose Battery/Battery > choose Battery Saver/Battery Saver > turn OFF the option.
  2. Go to your Phone Settings > choose Battery/Battery > choose Battery Optimization/Battery Optimization > switch to the ‘All apps list’ (Top Menu) – find the Fynch app in the list > choose Don’t optimize.
  3. Click on the ‘square’ at the bottom of the screen to open the active app list and find the Fynch app. Then click on the button with the 3 dots at the top right of the app. In the menu that appears, select the option ‘Lock’. A closed lock will now appear on the left behind the name of the app.
  4. Go to your Phone Settings > Apps > find the Fynch app in the list > choose Permissions > turn Location ON.

Then there are specific settings depending on the Android version installed on your phone.

If Android 7 installed on the OnePlus device

Check the following settings if there are problems that the measurement is not (correctly) taken:

  1. Click the ‘Overview’ button (‘Recent app button’ list) > find our app > tap the lock button in the top right corner of the app.
  2. Result: A closed lock now appears.
  3. Go to Phone Settings > Battery > three-dot menu icon  at the top right corner of the screen > choose “Aggressive Sleep & App Sleep” > turn OFF for all apps or just for our app (“Not Optimized”).
  4. Go to Phone Settings > Battery > three-dot menu icon at the top right corner of the screen > Power consumption apps > turn OFF the option “Automatically close high power consumption apps”.
  5. Go to Phone Settings > Apps >tap the gear icon  at the top right > choose “Automatically launch app” > turn OFF switch or turn ON switch “Allow apps launch automatically” for our app.
  6. Go to Phone Settings > Advanced > Recent App Manager >choose “Normal clear”.

If Android 8 installed on the OnePlus device
Check the following settings if there are problems that the measurement is not (correctly) taken:

  1. Go to Phone Settings > Battery/Battery > Battery Saver/Battery Saver > turn this option OFF.
  2. Go to Phone Settings > Battery/Battery > Battery Optimization/Battery Optimization > switch to ‘All apps list’ (Top Menu) > find our app > choose ‘Don’t optimize’.
  3. Go to Phone Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization >(three dots menu icon at the top right corner of the screen) > turn OFF option “Enhanced Optimization” or “Advanced Optimization”.
  4. Click on the ‘square’ at the bottom of the screen to open the active app list > search for our app > click on the button with the 3 dots at the top right of the app > choose the option ‘Lock’.
  5. Result: A closed lock appears next to the app name.
  6. Go to Phone Settings > Advanced > Recent App Manager >choose “Normal clear”.

If Android 9 installed on the OnePlus device
Check the following settings if there are problems that the measurement is not (correctly) taken:

  1. Go to Phone Settings > Apps >choose the Gear Icon> Special Access > Turn OFF “Battery Optimization” at the top right.
  2. Go to Recent apps > turn ON the lock button on the top right corner of our app.
    Or: Long press the app to open the menu with the lock option. Result: A closed lock now appears.
  3. Go to Phone Settings > Battery >turn OFF the “Battery Saver” and “Customizable Battery” options both.
  4. Go to Phone Settings > Battery >turn Battery Optimization OFF,
    go to ‘All apps’ in the top menu > choose our app > “Don’t optimize”.
  5. Go to Phone Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization >(three dots menu icon at the top right corner of the screen) > Advanced Optimization > turn OFF the following 2 options: “Advanced Optimization” (or “Deep Optimization” or Customizable Battery”) and “Sleep standby optimization”.
  6. Go to Phone Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization > switch to “All apps list” (Top menu) > choose our app > “Don’t optimize”.
  7. Go to Phone Settings > System > Recent App Manager >choose “Normal clear”.

If Android 10 installed on the OnePlus device
Check the following settings if there are problems that the measurement is not (correctly) taken:

  1. Go to Phone Settings > Apps & Notifications > Special App Access > Battery Optimization > three-dot menu icon at the top right corner of the screen > choose “Advanced Optimization” > turn OFF “Adjustable Battery”.
  2. Go to Phone Settings > Apps & Notifications >click “Show ALL APPS” >choose our app > click “Advanced” > click “Battery optimization” > “Do not optimize”.
    Or go to: Phone Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization > ALL APPS > choose our app > “Don’t optimize”.
  3. Go to Phone Settings > Battery >turn Battery Saver OFF.
  4. Go to Recent apps > find our app > three-dot menu icon at the top right corner of the screen > select the option “Lock”(= “Lock”).

If Android 11 installed on the OnePlus device

  1. Go to Phone Settings > Battery > turn Battery Saver OFF.
  2. Go to the OnePlus “Home” screen and open the “All apps” screen > go to Fynch > press and hold the app icon until a list of options appears > click on “App Info”:
    – Go to “Advanced” > “Battery” > “Battery optimization” > choose “Don’t Optimize”.
    – Go to Battery Manager > Allow Background Activity > toggle switch ON.
  3. Go to Phone Settings > Apps & Notifications > App Permissions > choose Fynch > set the appropriate permissions (including “Access the approximate location” and “Access the precise location”).
  4. Go to Phone Settings > Wi-Fi & Internet > Wi-Fi > enable “Scan always available”.
  5. Open Fynch > go to “Recent apps” > click the Lock button (= “Lock”) in the top right corner of the app preview. Fynch will now have a closed lock icon.

If present on the OnePlus device:

  1. Go to Phone Settings > Apps > click the Settings button (= wheel) in the top right corner > choose “App auto-lauch” > turn it ON for our app.
  2. Go to Phone Settings > choose Fynch > App info > Permissions > turn OFF the option “Remove permissions if an app isn’t used”.
