Trip registration using your HR package

Many HR packages offer the ability to keep track of trip registration and declaration. What is the added value of Fynch Mobility and why is the HR package not providing enough?

To answer this question, it is important to first decide what kind of company you want to be. Does your organization want to make an impact, be sustainable, and comply with laws and regulations?
Or is complying with laws and regulations enough?

Does the latter apply to you? It is most likely that the registration through the HR package is sufficient.
Is sustainability on the agenda, are you participating in the CO2 Performance Ladder or are you subject to CSRD? Then you are most likely not there yet. This does not necessarily mean that you have to deal with all kinds of extra administrative work. There are great and smart ways to make an impact while complying with all laws and regulations.

But first:
What should you consider when you register and declare trips and home office days through your HR software?

Often there is a lot to configure. Think about the fixed commuting distance, a button to record home office days, and in many cases you can send out the optional survey all at once. This will show up in the employee’s app and they can simply fill it out.

There are two disadvantages:

  1. You miss all business trips, these can be calculated at a flat rate for the Reporting Requirement WPM, but declarations still require a considerable amount of manual work
  2. The employer saves time, the employee has to invest more time keeping records

If you also want to make an impact and reduce CO2 emissions, an HR package does not offer the solution. After all, the software is built to record, not anticipate and direct. Also, the time savings in conducting a survey is limited to the employer; the employee actually gets more to do.

In either case, Fynch Mobility is the solution.

With Fynch’s app and web portal (part of Fynch Pro and Fynch Enterprise) you easily register business trips and commuting trips including type of transportation with the appropriate compensation attached. At the same time, the emissions from the trip are calculated and fed back to the employee. As an employer you can also link ‘Challenges’ in order to reward desired sustainable and vital behavior.

Fynch interfaces with all HR packages. This means that all travel and home office data can be automatically read into the HR package. The correct reimbursements are calculated and paid out to the employee without any manual work. This saves the employee and the employer time and demonstrably reduces CO2 emissions.

An additional advantage: as an employer, you already meet all the requirements for CO2 reporting legislation and CSRD, you climb the CO2 performance ladder faster, and you avoid changes when the legislation is updated in 2026.

Would you still like to solely use the survey? Then there is the Fynch Basic package. Our alternative to the questionnaire with which both the employer and the employee save time. In addition, we ensure that more reliable data is collected which reduces the risk of over-standardization.

In short, ask yourself and your organization. What kind of company are you? For a brighter future or do you figure it out later?
